JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!
In our last article we talked about Directory Assistance (DA) Rates going up within some states in the Qwest (formerly US West) territory. It appears that those tariffs have now affected, or are soon to affect, every state in their territory. In fact, recent information we obtained from a CLEC newsletter indicates that those tariffs may very well start rising again in January of next year. According to the article, many of the rates that went to $1.25 per call this year, will be increased to $1.50 per call next year. Happy New Year! |
But all is not gloomy – they have also introduced a new DA-Connection Service along with the tariff increases. What this means is that all intralata callers of 411 and 555-1212, will be told their DA request will include processing the call to the requested number, free of charge. However, if the call is a toll call within your LATA, you will assume Qwest long distance charges for the call. Merry Christmas! |
You folks in Verizon and SW Bell have reason to cheer this holiday season also, as your carriers continue to raise their 411 NDA tariffs to $1.25 and $1.10 respectively. And while some of you may still have that warm, safe feeling because your local rate is still only $0.57, remember the footprint that encompasses your local rate gets smaller and smaller. Ho Ho Ho! |
If you are looking for an alternative to these rising costs, then do yourself a real favor this Holiday Season – and call us at 215.793.4880 or email me at [email protected]. Have a great Holiday!! |
